Carpal tunnel syndrome

NeuroRejuvenation® - stem cell procedure reduces healing time and improves outcome after carpal tunnel surgery. Reduces scar tissue which reduces risk of recurrence and needing another surgery.

NeuroRejuvenation® carpal tunnel stem cell treatment

The Neuro-Rejuvenation procedure was developed by Dr. Fitzmaurice to enhance healing of wounds, minimize recovery time and speed up the nerve healing process after nerve decompressions surgery such as carpal tunnel release. Typical surgery and even minimally invasive procedures can lead to scar tissue around nerves. The Neuro-Rejuvenation procedure uses fat tissue from the belly and stem cells obtained within the fat to cover the nerve and protect from scar tissue. Stem cells derived from fat tissue have proven to stimulate a faster recovery of nerve function, decrease inflammation and improve nerve regeneration after injury or surgery.

We obtain stem cells from belly fat. There are a large amount of stem cells hiding within fat tissue. We obtain a small amount of fat from a mini liposuction technique using a state of the art machine which has been proven to minimize discomfort and maximize the quality of stem cells obtained from the fat tissue. This fat tissue is then processed using our technique to obtain a dense mixture of stem cells. This material is then placed around the nerve and to the surgical wound to enhance healing and protect nerve from scar tissue. The nerve function is significantly improved with less pain and greater return to normal function.

This procedure is used to protect a variety of nerves after decompression surgery such as carpal tunnel release, cubital tunnel release and radial nerve decompression. The procedure is also used to enhance the recovery and function after the nerve is repaired from traumatic injuries.

Results:

  • 3.7 x improved nerve function

  • 3.1 x greater nerve regeneration

  • less scar tissue

Research on the use of our adipose derived stem cell mixture over the nerve surgical site protects the area from scar tissue. This tissue also significantly decreases the amount of nerve pain caused by chronic compression of nerves. Our technique also promotes nerve regeneration after injury or surgery and stimulates improved function after crush injury such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Assessment of symptoms / function - QuickDash score

The QuickDash score measures outcomes after surgery. The lower the score equals less symptoms. The EndoTech procedure is significantly better than the typical open technique, however, the neuroRejuvenation stem cell procedure provides significantly better results and reduces likelihood of recurrence.
